One hot afternoon, a lion walked slowly through the forest.
The sun was high, and the ground felt warm beneath his paws.
“I need some water,” he said.
After a while, he came to a quiet pond.
The water shimmered in the light. The lion lowered his head to drink.
Just then,
Croak!
The lion froze.
The sound was loud and deep.
Croak! Croak!
The lion lifted his head and looked around.
“What was that?” he wondered.
The sound echoed across the water. It seemed strong and powerful.
The lion took a step back.
“Something big must be hiding here,” he thought.
He listened carefully.
Croak! Croak!
The lion walked slowly around the pond, watching closely.
He expected to see a large animal.
But he saw nothing.
The sound came again.
Croak!
This time, it came from near the edge of the pond.
The lion moved closer, step by step.
He looked down.
There, sitting on a small rock, was a tiny green frog.
Croak!
The lion blinked in surprise.
“This little frog made that loud sound?” he said.
The frog looked up and croaked again.
The lion let out a soft laugh.
He lowered his head and drank from the pond.
Then he looked at the frog once more.
“Things are not always as big as they sound,” he said.
The frog blinked quietly.
The lion walked away, calm and wise.
